The transition from consoles to mobile devices can be worrying, but the developers are apparently aiming for the same quality that you get on home consoles. Apparently, early plans in development allowed players to create their own Reploid, although it’s unknown if those made it into the final version of the game. What we see in the Mega Man X Dive gameplay trailer is rumored to be the result of one-and-a-half years of development on a new game built on the same engine used for Maverick Hunter X. You won’t just be playing as X and Zero, either - it’s rumored that you’ll be able to take on the role of multiple characters from a franchise that stretches across more than ten games. As a side effect, you’ll be able to play as characters from one game in the stages of an entirely different game (and with some pretty interesting gameplay mechanics). ![]() The timelines are all messed up, and it’s up to you to set things right. The premise is that a virus has corrupted the world of Mega Man X and has blended characters and stages together in a chaotic fashion. Fan site Rockman Corner has collected a number of details about what we may be seeing in this upcoming game. ![]() ![]() ![]() I called this a “somewhat surprising” release as hardcore fans of the franchise have been hearing whispers of a new title being developed for mobile devices.
